Adult Confirmation

Baptized Roman Catholics who have not received the sacrament of Confirmation are strongly encouraged to do so.  The path depends upon one’s prior catechesis or instruction. If one has not yet received First Communion (Eucharist), then one would join the Parish’s Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program.

If one already has received First Eucharist, then one either may join the Parish’s RCIA program for a more extensive preparation, or sign up for the shorter program sponsored by the Archdiocese each fall and spring.

Those baptized in other Christian denominations who wish to join the Catholic Church are confirmed as a part of the initiation process.  They join with those in the RCIA program.

To be confirmed it is expected that one have a sponsor or guide, who should be an actively practicing Catholic.
