The Respect Life Committee of St. Ignatius Parish is a part of the Respect Life Program of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, formed to implement the Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops. We uphold the Gospel of Life and are committed to our belief that each person is made in the image of a loving God and that all human life is sacred and worthy of our continuing Love, support, care and protection at all stages of life. Guided by Scripture and Catholic tradition, we are committed to help parishioners become more aware of life issues and the needs of those we meet on the journey of Life.

We work together to assist in a practical way men, women and children in need, and we support the pro-life goals of:

  • Birthright*
  • First Resort *
  • Project Rachel*
  • Gabriel Project*
  • Interfaith Committee for Life

O Mary, Bright Dawn of the New World
The Respect Life Prayer of Pope John Paul II

O Mary,
bright dawn of the new world,
Mother of the living,
to you do we entrust the cause of life.
Look down, O Mother,
upon the vast numbers
of babies not allowed to be born,
of the poor whose lives are made difficult,
of men and women
who are victims of brutal violence,
of the elderly and the sick killed
by indifference or out of misguided mercy.
Grant that all who believe in your Son
may proclaim the Gospel of life
with honesty and love
to the people of our time.
Obtain for them the grace
to accept that Gospel
as a gift ever new,
the joy of celebrating it with gratitude
throughout their lives
and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely,
in order to build,
together with all people of good will,
the civilization of truth and love,
to the praise and glory of God,
the Creator and lover of life.
Amen.
