St. Ignatius’ large, active community, and our many special events and opportunities to socialize make it easy to find friends and make a spiritual home here. The Community Commission oversees all social events, welcoming programs, hospitality and volunteer management.

Annual Winter Event

With the joy of Christmas celebrations behind us, the Annual Winter Event reconnects the parish at the end of January. Guaranteed to be a fun family event enjoyed by all ages. Last year’s Hoedown was a huge success!

Bike to Worship

All levels of bike riders welcome! Following Mass and a blessing of the bikes, adults and children ride through Golden Gate Park. The afternoon highlights include a picnic lunch and fun prizes.

Christmas Emporium

Held after all Sunday morning Masses in early December, the Emporium starts off the festive Christmas season! Convenient shopping at specialty vendors, with holiday music and a visit from Santa.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Sunday Egg Hunt is always a great community event attracting over 400 parishioners- both young and old. The hunt begins following the 9:30am Easter Sunday Mass. With over 160 pounds of candy stuffed into 1,800 Easter eggs, no one leaves empty handed.

Easter Vigil Reception

Following the Easter Vigil Mass, the Parish celebrates and welcomes the newly initiated members of the Church with light snacks and drinks in the vestibule of the church.

Emmaus Young Adults

Our young adult group, ages 20’s and 30’s, meets monthly for social and spiritual gatherings. The group has initiated a monthly service project called Encounter to visit and share meals with the homeless in the parish’s neighborhood. Emmaus also steps in to volunteer at parish events and coordinates the Parish's Advent Giving Tree Project and the annual Creche display.

Hospitality

Parishioners gather in Fromm Hall (behind the church) for fellowship, coffee and pastries after the 9:30 am and 11:00 am Sunday Masses.

Parish Fair

At the end of September following a combined 10:00 am Mass, our biggest community building event brings together over 500 adults and children. Held on the lawn outside the church we gather for a delicious BBQ lunch, silent auction, raffle and fun and games for the whole family.

Requiem Mass Hospitality

Following a powerful and moving Requiem Mass in St. Ignatius Parish’s acoustically rich church, we gather in the vestibule of the church for light snacks and drinks. This beautiful evening is a gift to both our music loving parishioners and those outside our parish.

SI in the 'hood

Three times throughout the year, our parishioners graciously open their homes to neighboring parishioners. This event creates an intimate opportunity for us to get to know St. Ignatius parishioners in our own neighborhood. Lite food and wine are served.

Welcoming Committee

This newly formed committee has been developed to welcome new members of our parish, introduce them to other parishioners, and encourage their participation in a variety of ways. Occasional cocktail receptions are planned after our 5:00 pm Mass for new parishioners to meet Fr. Greg as well as other members of the parish.
