Swords into Plowshares: Disarming Our Hearts at the Foot of the Cross, a Parish Day of Reflection & Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is given to the Church so that each of us can hear, physically and not just spiritually, that God loves us and wants us to love others. No matter what we have done that separates us from God, God’s love keeps reaching out to us, and calling us to become the person we most desire to be. Reconciliation is a time to disarm our hearts, put down the walls, and receive, that we might give. The Sacrament of Reconciliation begins with an honest look at yourself, asking, “What is it in my life, right now, that keeps me from receiving God’s love and sharing that love with other people?” In this we consider both sins of commission—things we do—and sins of omission— things we might have done, but did not do.
