I never thought of becoming a Eucharistic Minister until St. Ignatius resumed in-person mass during the pandemic. They said they needed volunteers and emphasized that no prior experience was necessary. Somehow, I thought that one needed training or certification or something – perhaps a relic from my Catholic childhood.
I decided to try it, and I am so glad I did. The staff were welcoming, the instructions clear, and it completely changed my experience of mass. I had previously received communion, but now I was participating in communion. For that brief period, when we all leave the pews and gather, we participate in communion together. I believe it will change your experience of mass as well, and I hope you will join us!
