Music speaks to a very fundamentally human part in all of us. Making and sharing music as part of our liturgical celebration at Mass for me is a most heartfelt prayer. I returned to music and my violin after twenty years away when I joined the choir in 2005. When I play (and sometimes sing) during Mass I hear the word of God with more than words and feel the word of God written on my heart as in the scriptures.
To feel God's presence and pleasure in our music is the goal of the music ministry and I humbly try to share this with my fellow musicians and parishioners. I see this as both my ministry and my privilege - to make a "joyful noise" to the glory of God.
