Yes, breathing keeps us alive but singing amplifies our spiritual vitality. As a child I was taught, those who sing pray twice! Every day as I walk in Golden Gate Park, I sing songs from our St. Ignatius choir repertoire: “Oh Lord, You are the center of my life, I will always love you, I will always praise you, I will always keep you in my sight!” “Wade in the Water” and others also add to my pleasure and joy. I feel more connected to my God.
The choir is community. We shape our hymns, play with breath and together produce wonderful harmony. We feel creative together. And then the listening congregation applauds!!! We are blessed to have Maggie Warner, our Choir Director, elegantly instruct and conduct us. Coaching from our professional section leaders is also available to grow and hone your gifts.
Join us, so that someday our whole church might be filled with singing!
